How we started

Before we started sailing with AMEL 54 S.V. Vela Nautica, we sailed, since 2013, the german flagged Beneteau Oceanis 473 sailing vessel „Blue Pearl“.

Therefore we lived for one year together at Nesa`s tropical Home island Panglao what is part of the Pilippine Islands. Nesa never sailed before, but Oliver had still his boat at home in Germany and in June 2013 we most importantly decided that it is time to go sailing.

End of June 2013 we launched the boat into the baltic sea and trained Nesa´s sailing skills and liveaboard around the Danish baltic islands.

It took us from baltic island „Fehmarn“ along the european west coast south ward. It was an amazing enjoyable trip because we visited 8 european countrys and crossing the Biscay.

Caribbean

We spend 2 ½ years in the Caribbean visiting west Indies, Venezuela, ABC-Islands, Colombia, Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and back against the prevailing winds to the west Indies.

In june 2016 we crossed the Atlantic Ocean again. This time east bound, visiting the amazing Azores Islands, to Lisbon / Portugal.

In Lisbon, the new owner of our old Ship, took her over. We switched to our amazing AMEL 54, S.V. Vela Nautica. We spend roughly 9 month to prepare Vela Nautica for new Adventures and refit the ship.
